Hard water as everybody is aware requires more soap/detergent to establish a decent lather. Most washing powder manufacturers indicate how much you should use in hard and soft water Areas. The major drawback is the formation of an insoluble curd that leaves deposits on anything it touches and will remain within the fabric of clothing. These deposits can cause dryness and irritation to the skin. By removing the hardness minerals contained in the water, lather is achieved at a much lower soap/detergent dosing level.
